Help I Need a Dog Training For Dummies Guide

Please excuse the dog training for dummies title I don't mean to offend you, I simply used this because this term is a description we have come to acknowledge and respect as a term to help use solve almost any problem we may have. I take my hat off to the guys who made the ‘For Dummies' series of books.

If you are in need of assistance to train your dog then you have come to the right place. My main goal here is merely to put you in the correct frame of mind before you start to educate your dog. It will be then that you will eventually see how you can train your dog in the most effective way. You, yourself, could end up producing a dog training for dummies DVD.

Initially the thing you must get right in your head about how to train your dog is to go from having this brainwave that your dog can't be trained and they will forever be a issue to own. And start to think about how you will take control of the whole state of affairs and deal with your challenging canine.

You then need to step out of the way you presently treat your dog and give him the ‘aww, isn't he irresistible, he's like a small baby' label. This has been the frequent problem a lot of owners have and more than likely it would answer for why you have so many issues with your dog.

If you don't own up to this now then you won't be able to move in the right direction and take control of your pet.  You won't see this until its directly pointed out to you however must know that what you're actually doing is opening the door for your dog to become the most dominent in your home.

This is the tough part and once you make this shift you will be able to show your dog that he is no longer in charge and he will fall back to his rightful place. Remember this isn't about been inhuman to your dog its about expressing to him he can't behave naughtily and still get your attention.

Don't fret and make sure you keep your head up, keep positive and stop looking at your dog as if he were a child. Start by getting this right first, once you have your dogs obedience and he knows that you're in charge then start to apply the standard obedience training.

Book For Dummies List

book for dummies list
How do you alphabetize a list of words, say book titles, when some of them are two or more words?

For example:

Braindead
Brain Damage from Car Wrecks
Brains for Dummies

It may sound silly, but I keep getting stuck on this detail. Do you go by just the first word, or do you treat the first and second words as though one word?

In other words, would it be the way I originally typed it or:

Brain Damage from Car Wrecks
Braindead
Brains for Dummies

There are two acceptable ways to alphabetize: letter by letter or word by word.

Letter by letter is the most common. In that case, regardless of the length of the words or where they break, your list follows each letter:

Brain Damage from Car Wrecks (BRAINDA)
Braindead (BRAINDE)
Brains for Dummies (BRAINS)

If you alphabetize word by word, then you'll alphabetize only to the end of the first word. All 3 of your titles start with "Brain," but one of them is "Brain" all by itself, ending short. That comes first. Next, compare "Brains" and "Braindead." D comes before S, so the order is:

Brain Damage (BRAIN _)
Braindead (BRAIND)
Brains for Dummies (BRAINS)
