Does the book Koi for Dummies give alot of good information?
I've never read any of those Dummies books so was unsure?
I always recommend getting food quality books for research...honestly the online sources..have too much "personal" hobbiests experiences. Books in the dummy line are usually written by experienced professionals who have done proper research for you..and can site their information sources. information on Fish as long lived as Koi need to be very acurate and researched for many years as the fish are famously long lived...plus the book would cover common diseases in koi...treatments...seasonal changes .... breeding...and information on the many variations in color and quality....I have not read the book...but I own quite a few other books by the title...I say go for it...I have found them invaluable. Oh and I agree with the above mentioning of other professional magazines and listing of recommended books...good for you for trying to research and learn about your hobby...its getting to rare these days(plus isn't that part of the fun).
Part of the format of "dummies is they don't take it for granted that you know anything about the subject...it takes you from no information to the begining of advanced information, the dummies part means they explain things with vocabulary that most people can understand...and are better organized to help your understanding.
