Computer bookkeeping for small business question?

I want to do my own books for two small businesses. I have been doing it the old way with ledger books. I have recently started doing it on Microsoft XL and I love it. Here is my question: Should I buy the book Microsoft XL for dummies, or should I buy a book on basic accounting? I am not trying to become an accountant, I just want to do my own books.

I highly recommend QuickBooks accounting software. You can obtain a free copy of their "Simple Start" version at Intuit.QuickBooks.com. Click on Products and Services then Simple Start from the dropdown menu. Chances are, it will be all that you need.
