Idiots Guide To Web Design

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

advice for learning web design/content development?

I have a strong background in editing/writing. I'm interesting in learning about web design, as part of a future career change. I know every job is different, and I'm not sure if I'm interested in the content or graphic design part of it. Where is the best place for me to start? I know I don't want a job focusing heavily on writing code. Should I begin with a simple book, such as the Idiot's guide to webdesign, take an online class - or start with software? Should I start by learning HTML? Javascript? Photoshop? Or, should I get something like "coffeecup," that lets you build a site easily (just for experience). Any advice would be greatly appreciated, since finding out where to begin is quite confusing.

Thank you!

I would suggest first of all go for Photoshop. To design a page its most essential. Join some class for Photoshop ( its even better if u learn corel draw..but its next step..don't go for learning both at a time)

Then u can learn HTML on your own . By visiting related websites . Search in google.

Lastly u can go for javascript. But as a web designer, the more knowledge u will have abt photoshop, corel draw & flash the better. U can bring innovative designs using these softwares .
*u can learn photoshop in just 1 month & I am sure u will enjoy it.

All the best !
