Will doing the gluten-free tax deduction thing be worth while?
In Gluten Free For Dummies it said that you can deduct the extra expenses of gluten free food.
..but it seemed very complicated.
Can someone give me more UNDERSTANDABLE information
and tell me if the money you save would be worth the work?
I looked at it a couple of years ago and even if you meet all the IRS requirements to be able to deduct anything for a gluten free diet it just isn't worth the time or aggravation unless you are doing it for a large family that is all required to be gluten free. Then maybe it is.
The first thing to do would be to look at your last year taxes and see how much you have to spend on medical deductions before you can deduct anything. Unless you have large medical expenses already, you won't even exceed this cutoff.
