But then if I can also file my income tax returns online I am not complaining at all.

That's what I asked my friend who told me about e-filing of taxes. "It's really very simple," he said giving me a what-on-earth-were-you-doing-for-so-many-days-you-idiot kind of a look.

So the income earned in the previous year April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006 is taxable in the assessment year starting from April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007.

Similarly, income earned in the previous year April 1, 2006 to March 31, 2007 is taxable in the assessment year starting from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

That's not all

Now let's say you click on e-filing for A.Y. 2007-08. You will be taken to a page from where you can download an excel utility that helps you file online income tax returns.

~ Choose which category you belong to (salaried employees with only salary income will have to download ITR-1).

~ Fill in the required data asked for in the excel sheet.

~ Save the excel file on your local machine.

~ Click on 'Submit return' link in the middle on the left hand side to upload the saved excel file to the income tax of India's server.

She went on line and we set up my account. She showed me how to turn it on and off then said, "There you are, have fun." For a long time it was a table decoration staring at me every time I passed it.

Up to that point I hadn't given the cost of ink a thought. Boy, was I in for a surprise. The printer takes four cartridges @ $120 each. It's funny how one thing in life leads to another, then on to another, and another. There seems to be so many tragedies around the world anymore, or maybe the news just travels faster. I did pretty well in the business world but not so well that I could make much of an impact financially, which is my goal, for the time I have left on this spaceship we call earth.

The Different Kinds of Dwarf Hamsters
Believe it or not, there are different breeds of hamsters that fall into the "dwarf" classification.

The Russian Dwarf Hamster comes in different color varieties and will get to about 3-4 inches long. They come in the usual short-haired form or in a Fancy form with a satiny, glossier coat.

The Roborovskii Dwarf Hamster (aka "Robo Dwarf") are smaller than the other breeds (around 2 inches long) and can be a sandy/tan color with a while belly and cute white patches above the eyes.

The Chinese Dwarf Hamster is not a true dwarf but is sometimes classified as such. They get to about 4-5 inches long and have a black back stripe and grey/brown fur. (Some states do not allow Chinese Hamsters as pets)

Hamsters are very active (some breeds more than others) and need plenty of space to run around. Having activity centers (wheels) and toys will keep them busy and make them fun to watch as well.

Some hamster species are better jumpers than others, so it's important to have a secure habitat that they can't hop out of and get loose and into harm's way!

Depending on the species, you may be able to have more than one hamster in your habitat and then it's even more important to give them enough room to run around without getting competitive for favorite sleep and play spaces.

If you chose to house more than one dwarf hamster together it is best if they have known each other from birth and have remained living together. They will tend to be more tolerant of each other. Often it's the lack of space and available food that causes stress and fights to break out. Provide your pets with ample room and each with a hiding place of their own. That way should a fight break out, they have a place to go hide in. If fighting persists, it's best to separate them, so have a back up cage, just in case!

As they are gnawing animals they will require wooden chew toys. You can obtain unstained and untreated wooden chew blocks from the pet store. Please try and avoid using exercise balls as they can become stressed by feeling trapped inside and overheated.

Roborovskii hamsters are instinctive burrowing animals, and will benefit and enjoy having bedding about 2 inches in depth scattered all over their cage floor. They will move about the bedding to suit themselves. When purchasing bedding or substrate as it's sometimes called, be sure it isn't cedar based as it can cause your hammy to become ill. Change the bedding and clean the cage once a week and if two or more are living together it will require changing more often.

Proper nutrition plays an important role in your pet's health, reproductive and life span. By providing your pet with pellets made for dwarf hamsters, fresh water, occasional veggies and avoiding processed food and junk food will benefit your pet.

It's just one of those mornings. As the rain pours down and I'm trying to start my mini (yes those old small ones) I decide it's time to buy a new car.

Every time you grow your own plants, every time they sprout from the earth through container gardening, you get a satisfactory feeling. Why? Because you knew their origination! With food poisoning in foods like vegetables, why take the risk? Many people are starting to grow their own produce instead of risking an ER visit.

If you've been thinking that container gardening is expensive or difficult to operate, you fallen to the same misconception that many people recently have as well. We'll walk you through it, step by step, the process of creating your own container garden. For a nice example, we'll be growing basil.

Step 1: Buy container gardening supplies, which entail (if you know where to shop, it'll cost you around twenty dollars or even less to buy all the materials, especially if you possess a sunny spot for plants. If you don't, then you need to utilize artificial light. This will add to about fifteen to twenty dollars to your varying purchases):

- 3 plastic pots w/h holes for draining at the bottom. Preferably, these will have trays below that catch dirt and water damage around five to six inches in length and five to six inches deep
- 1 bag of basil seeds

Step 2: Prep the soil by mixing a bit of compost with moss (5 parts compost and one part peat moss. For every trowel of moss, essentially place five trowels of compost). Measure three pots until they are around.5 of an inch from the top w/h the mixture.

Step 3: Place the basil seeds in the dirt, making holes 2.54 cm (1 inch) down in the centre of the individual pots using your fingers. Around three seeds should be placed in each hole, and buried with soil. Hydrate in small quantities with water, and place them under sunlight. The seed should sprout soon and once they are around two inches in height, promptly remove any other sprouts. This will permit you to have only one plant per pot.

Step 4: Watering regularly and maintaining them like any other plant will keep them alive. Look through soil for moisture daily. If the soil feels clay-like, water. If you want the basil to continuously grow, clip off the tip of the stock every few weeks and any branches.

There's nothing more to it! It's that easy, and that fast to start your own container garden. We only planted basil in this example. But you can branch out on your own: try tomatoes, peppers, thyme, roses, or other, as any will work with a few small changes.
