The job market in Dubai was really taken aback by the problems of the repayment of the Dubai world debt as well as by the downturn of the property sector. It would seem that the economy hasn't really recovered from these setbacks. Many migrant workers and expatriates have some bad memories of Dubai as they were forced to leave in haste or were fired. Many of Dubai's employment agencies have to save some advertising space for the entire year. Therefore, whether they have job vacancies or not, they have to put some advertisements in the newspaper. In addition, there are some employment agencies that create dummy job vacancies so that they can improve their image. This means that finding and interviewing the talent that is available so that a pipeline of suitable resumes for candidates is available to provide to prospective employers. But, this doesn't mean that all of the job agencies are doing this or that all of the job vacancies are dummies. However, it is true of many of them with the exception of the Dubai Classifieds.
A common mistake that many of the Dubai job seekers make is to only apply for positions that are advertised by job agencies in the newspapers. The fact is that there are numerous candidates who apply for Dubai's job vacancies and they have to be very lucky if anyone in the job agency will even look at their resume. The same is true for most of the jobs that are advertised on job websites except for the Dubai Classifieds.
The Dubai Classifieds advertise for those jobs that are offered directly by the employer. This is the best option for a job seeker. Usually, an employer will first try to fill a vacant job from within the company, by either transferring somebody to the job or through the promotion of somebody. If that doesn't work the employer will ask his own friends or the people that he knows from within the company if they know somebody who can handle the responsibilities of the job and fill the position. It is only if this doesn't work that the employer will write an advertisement for the job. This means that the employer is serious about filling the position and has exhausted all of the other possibilities. Interviewing takes effort and time and is frequently the last resort.
The absolute best bet to find a job in Dubai is to look in the Dubai Classifieds. They get their jobs directly from the employer and those employers are serious about filling their positions.
