Is there a difference in lava rocks for landscaping and lava rocks for propane grills?
I bought some but didn't pay attention (dummy me). When I got them home the package said they are for landscaping. It didn't say NOT to use them for cooking, but it didn't say it was ok either. Are they the same?
They are the same. Usually there is more variation in size with landscaping lava rock. As long as they're able to fit together without big gaps in between, they'll work fine.
They are safe to use in your propane grill. If they even did use some solvent to clean them (doubtful), any remnant would burn off when you preheated the grill.
