To get crisp and clear pics, there are a couple of things you should do.

First, eliminate any blur caused by you moving the camera, or having the subject move. You do this by having an appropriate shutter speed. There is a rule of thumb for eliminating blur associated with your movement while taking the picture. That is, select a shutter speed that is at least 1/focal length. for example, if you are using a 100mm lens, shoot with a shutter speed that is at least 1/100 a second. Faster is better - so 1/125 or 1/200 is good, too (as you advance in photography, you'll see how this affects what aperture you can use, and how that affects depth of field).

If the subject is moving, you need to align your shutter speed to their movements. When I take baseball pictures, I need a minimum of 1/1000 second to freeze a baseball in flight - usually even faster.

The other crisp and clear suggestion is with your focusing. The default focusing point on your D60 is the exact middle of the frame. When I am taking picture of people, I ensure that I am focusing on one of their eyes. You can find this in the manual, but to take the picture put the center focus on the person's eye, press the shutter release (button) half way and hold it. This locks the focus. Then move your camera to frame the subject properly, and press the button the rest of the way. Press slowly and deliberately.

Hope this helps!
