Building my own computer?

I might have asked this question couple hours ago, but i decided to try asking on this category.

So i wanted to build a computer and i bought this book "building your own PC for dummies" and it told me much about how to build a computer. Are there anything else i need to know about PC before building my own computer? im trying to build a gaming PC.

Yes, building a computer is simple through a step by step guide like the book, "building your own PC for dummies", but it may not take into account excess heat build up due to peripherals like extra or high capacity hard drives, more then one media drive (cd/dvd/blu-ray), separate component video card. More than 3G of ram.

Make sure the motherboard you select has fan connectors for atleast 3 fans (CPU, Chassis, and Power). Make sure the case you are choosing has enough ventilation, as well as space for more fans or larger fan sizes other than the standard 80mm fans.

There are cooling solutions for each excessive heat component in a PC from heatsinks, to powerred fan or liquid cooling components. Some are even passive cooling units that rely on a mixture of both heatsinks and fans. Besides selecting a power supply unit (PSU), to power your rig, make sure it can accomodate the extra fans.

For motherboards that do not have extra fan headers, you can always add fans that connect via the 4 pin Molex connectors, either directly or via bypass connectors. And to balance out all the possible noise from all the fans you may be adding, might I suggest a fan controler to help balance the noise to cooling capacity.

There are such things as auto controllers that adjust fan speeds when a certain temperature is reached so there would be no worries to catching temperature changes on the fly.

P.s check out the link to Xoxide, they are one of the best custom mod sites I know of to pimp-out any custom build, like the sweet case called, "Bulldozer". Or for the inner mmorpg geeks check out their specialty energy drinks lol...
