Football Strength and Speed Workout for Beginners

How to Increase Football Speed & Strength and Get Faster on the Football Field with Basic Workouts for Beginners

When beginners, especially high school football players set out to increase football speed and strength or to get faster for football, they typically go about it in the wrong way. Their football weight training workouts are poorly planned. They simply throw together a football workout from some bodybuilding magazines or from what some dummy on a lifting forum suggested.

You need to follow football strength and speed workouts that are high quality and developed by a professional strength coach, not some skinny bodybuilding writer!

Here is an example of a great football strength workout:

1/2 Deadlift in the Rack - 135, 225, 310, 410 x 2; 500, 600, 650 x 1; 705 x 1,2,1,2,1,2

o The Partial Deadlift should be rotated into any good football strength program. It builds tremendous top-end strength

o This is a great movement for taller guys (like WR's) because it shortens the ROM and allows a taller player to use some significant weight.

Sled Pulls - Sprints x 12-minutes

o The sled should be heavy enough that it was more of a strength feat than a speed exercise

o It's very Dino-Training/Caveman-ish, which I like

Snatch Pulls - 8 x 2 x 275

Hypers - 3 x 8 x 110lbs

o Hypers and Glute Ham raises are a huge part of Powerlifting and should also be a big part of your football training.

o They strengthen the lower back and hamstrings which greatly contributes to getting faster for football

Hanging Leg Raises - 3 x 15

That's it. Brief. To the point. Builder of football strength. That's what these workouts are all about...getting stronger for football.

Too many guys forget this when they plan their workouts. They do what they like, what they read in some terrible bodybuilding magazine,...or worse, what they think will make them look good...

...looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane...

"Solar Cells For Dummies" Guide - Don’t Say You Didn’t Know !

If you've come across this page because you are searching for the facts on the "solar cells for dummies" guide, get ready to be "enlightened"! I will reveal the best techniques that will allow you to "plug" your home to a limitless source of free energy, and even…get paid for it. Are you skeptical? Do yourself a favor and devote a few minutes to this article.

Why should you have to deal with high electric bills when there is equipment readily available which will bring you free solar energy, easy to build, easy to install, and quick to provide benefits? If you're thinking it's probably unaffordable - it's not; it was considered an extravagance in the "dark ages" (a couple of years ago!), but times have changed.

How do i know all that? Some time ago, i was getting interested in solar energy and was doing web searches for the "solar cells for dummies" guide and i learned that tens of thousands of people from all across the nation and many other countries had found success with state-of-the-art green technology which turns ordinary sunlight into an abundant supply of electricity in no time. I checked into the topic further and i also found out that you can get up and running with a very minimal set-up expense we can all afford (who can't afford to save money?). At long last, we can all take advantage of a state-of-the-art technology which allows us to benefit from a free source of electricity for the rest of our lives.

Maybe you've just heard about the "solar cells for dummies" guide, and want to learn more, but be sure to double-check the exciting facts about it - not only will you benefit from an abundant, free energy supply, you can say good-bye to energy bills as the power company will no longer be required to supply electricity to your home. I also learned that it's a widespread practice to get compensated by your local utility company for all excess energy over and above what you require. Here's one more important thing to consider - with the use of solar power you'll be playing a very important role in keeping the planet livable for your children's children.

Communion For Dummies

Since I’ve moved back home to live in my parents’ basement, I go with my folks to church pretty much every morning.  They go to a Catholic church, which they’ve belonged to for some 30 years, and since they’ve both retired, they attend morning mass every day.  My dad plays golf on Tuesdays, so I took my mom today and afterwards, as I was waiting for my mom, some little lady asked me why I didn’t take communion during the service.  Good question.

I am not Catholic.  Haven’t been since I joined a Pentecostal Church in 1982 during my second tour in the Air Force while stationed in England.  I knew what communion means to Catholics and since I no longer believed THAT same way, I felt it was important to respect their beliefs and not to be flippant with a sacred part of their religion.  I remember before Jody and I were married in 1990, she came home with me to visit the folks and we went to church with them.  She was also Pentecostal, raised in a pastor’s home and had been in that church all of her life.  She took communion that morning.  I don’t think she understood the difference in the two beliefs that dominate our two churches in regards to communion. I explained the difference in our beliefs about this and she, to her credit, respected my parents' religious traditions and never did that again.

Before we got married, we attended a weekend called Engaged Encounter, which is an offshoot of Marriage Encounter.  On the discussion panel, they had a priest, a recently married couple and a couple that had been married many years as presenters.  When it came to a discussion about church, and a church service that they were going to have the following Sunday morning, the priest spoke about the meaning of communion.  The basic gist of what he said was that to be in communion was to be in agreement.  And how can you take part in a sacrament of the church if you don’t agree about its meaning?

Protestants and Catholics believe two completely different things about communion.   This is not a minor “shades of gray” difference, but a major fracture that separates us to quite a distance.  Now we no longer call each other heretics and want to burn each other at the stake, but the same differences that caused those disputes are still alive and well in the world today.   Part of our humanity wants everyone else to see things the way we do.  This is normal, and we don’t really need to apologize for it.  But our civility allows others to see things differently and respects those differences.  It’s part of being an adult.

The major difference in the beliefs of the two camps is while Catholics believe that the bread and wine becomes the actual body and blood of Christ, Protestants believe it is simply a remembrance of Christ’s coming death and resurrection; His body broken and His blood spilled out for our salvation.  In fact, the Catholic mass cannot actually be complete without partaking in communion.  Minor difference?  I don’t think so.  Wars have been fought over this “minor difference”.

As a Non-Catholic, I can enjoy the mass without partaking in communion.  There is enough of what I need to fill the spiritual void that I can enjoy it without disrespecting my family and my family’s heritage.  Also, I am there as support for my parents and my experience is not diminished by not partaking of communion.  The celebration of Christ’s memory and splendor is not diminished by the lack of taking communion.  It brings a sense of God’s presence in my life by participating in all the mass even without communion.  I am also reminded of where I began this Christian journey almost 50 years ago.  And right now, this is enough.

Baseball Rules For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

I'm a baseball rookie sort of...?

I'm really getting into baseball lately-I just love going to watch our local team, and watching the pro teams on TV sometimes of course. My son is playing this summer too and loves it! We play it on XBox together too, hehe. My question is this: I don't know that much about technical stuff, different pitches, rules, etc...any recommendations? Is their a baseball for dummies book or something, lol??? Or am I best off just watching and learning as I go?

Get a book AND watch & learn AND keep playing on XBox. You can never know too much about baseball, sister!
Honestly, no one will know or care that you don't know much about baseball yet. Just cheer when they cheer and boo when they boo. Fake it till you learn. The important thing is that you have fun and make sure your son enjoys his games as much as you do! : )

Wine Making For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
wine making for dummies
Making wine for dummies. I need a step by step recipe to make it please. Any suggestions?

I live in the middle east and its prohibited here...so, need a simple step by step recipe on how to make it. Please no web links just looking for an old fashioned way to make it.Thanks for your understanding. Cheers

Here are 2 recipes that are easy:

Mom's Homemade Wine
Ingredients :
2 x 12oz cans Frozen Grape Juice
4 cup Sugar
1 tsp Dry yeast
Water
1 x Balloon
1 x Glass gallon jug

Method :
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of warm water. Mix all other ingredients together in the gallon jug. Pour yeast/water mixture into jug. Fill jug halfway full with warm water. Shake well to mix ingredients and disolve sugar.
Fill the jug to the lower neck with water. Put a toy balloon on the neck of the jug. Poke a small hole in the balloon with a needle. Place in an area that will not be disturbed for three weeks. The balloon will inflate from the gas while fermenting. When the balloon starts to deflate the wine is finished. Do not move the jug while fermenting.
This recipe came from my great grand mother in Germany. It was passed on by my grandmother, to mother, then me. I hope that you enjoy it.
It is a little potent for wine!

21-Day Wine
Ingredients :
4 cup Cranapple Juice
4 cup Grape Juice, Canned, Not Frozen
4 cup Sugar
1 whl Yeast Cake
4 cup Distilled Water
1 whl 15 Cent Balloon
ga Jug (Sterilized)

Method :
1. Mix juices and sugar in a large bowl so after the sugar dissolves well it will be easy to funnel into a jug.
2. Dissolve yeast in a little lukewarm water and than add to the jug.
3. Cap the jug with the balloon. (be sure you save the original cap for the jug. You will need it later.)
4. The balloon will gradually expand as the wine "works." Remove the balloon on the 21st day and it's all ready for serving. Suitable to serve with meals.
Be sure to read notes.
NOTES : Helpful hints: Sterilize your jugs well. Measure the yeast accurately and be sure to use lukewarm water to dissolve the yeast. Hot water will kill the action.

Trading Futures For Dummies

trading futures for dummies
Stocks...for dummies?

Where to start...I am a 28 year old male who knows absolutely nothing about stocks, buying, and trading.

I have come into a little money but can't access it until the end of the year and I was thinking about things I can do to make that money grow so I can one day have enough money to put a down payment on a house or buy a house as well as plan for my future.

I got to thinking about those ...for dummies books and would like to know what you all think would be the best ones I can buy....again I am completely oblivious about the whole stock trading deal and would like to pick up some reading material on stocks for beginners etc. that explains it all in a simple and understandable language (no jargon).

A stock represents shares of ownership in a company. Anyone who owns a part of ownership in a business is called a shareholder or a stockholder. As a shareholder, you will receive a share certificate that shows you own a piece of a company. You ca sell or buy shares of any company.

Spanish For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
spanish for dummies
What is the best way to teach myself Spanish other than taking classes?

I've taken four full years of Japanese in high school, and now that I'm in college I'm interested in learning to speak and write (mainly speak however) in different foreign languages.

Unfortunately, though I wanted to take classes, i just don't have the time! And i use up all of my units taking the classes I need! so i've been to Borders looking for books that help the individual learn to speak Spanish, but i don't know what the best method is to do this without wasting too much money?

should i just grab spanish for dummies or something?

hmm.. the best way to learn a language is PRACTICE.
I mean, it helps taking classes/reading books... but it will take a lot more time... and I don't think that's the best way to go.
That's how I learned English, I went to a elementary school in U.S.A. for 7 years (but I lived in Mexico, so I crossed the border everyday)..
the teachers wouldn't allow us to speak Spanish.. (not even at recess).. so we were forced to practice English, and honestly I didn't pay that much attention at class (language arts, etc.) It helps to learn the grammar rules... but mostly I just learned by practicing..
so that's my theory...

I recommend you learn as much as you can from a books like Spanish for dummies haha.. but also take as an option trying to practice with friends who know Spanish, or even visiting some place where people speak Spanish..

good luck!

Robert S Rules For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

Finding Hot Stock Markets to Heat up Your Trading Portfolio

UNCONVENTIONAL STYLE OF TRADING STOCKS:

We do not like day trading stocks, but we are short term traders and we DO like to hit and run in the US stock market. We like to get into positions when they are moving and then get out in two or three days. We think this is a highly effective way to trade and combines safety with very high yields.

But to do this we use a very unconventional style of trading. We set up a very large group of markets, currently 96, limit our commitment to each market to about $1,000 and then take mechanical trading signals from a trading system we have programmed and have traded with real money for many years. We use a custom trading platform that interfaces with live streaming data from E-signal. We sit in front of a computer for six and a half hours per trading day and we typically take 10 to 30 trades a day.

IDENTIFICATION OF VOLATILE MARKETS:

But because we take so many trades and are only in trades for two or three days our methods will not work in dead markets. Our methods require that we identify volatile markets.

Identifying good volatile markets can be a little tricky. At one time I used a simple form of back testing to do this. I would grab a market, get a couple months of tick data for that market and then apply our trading system and look at the results. If the results looked good I would put the market into my portfolio and if the results looked bad I would discard the market.

The results of this method could be disappointing. A market that had made good money for 8 weeks might produce a string of two or three losing trades just as I was putting real money on it and the market that I had discarded might start making money.

What I soon realized was that this approach was really a form of optimization that was, in effect, trying to predict future trading system performance by trying to fit a system to a given set of data. It was a form of "curve fitting" and curve fitting is the worst thing you can do to identify profitable trading. This simply was not a good approach.

But what I realized when working with market data was that the critical factors for identifying profitable markets was volatility and follow through.

I then investigated some commercial software that allowed the user to scan large numbers of markets and enter certain criteria to identify markets that met those certain criteria. I did find this commercial software helpful for identifying volatile markets but the results were nevertheless not as satisfactory as I had hoped for.

The problem was that most commercial software uses range over a period of time to determine volatility. The problem was that sometimes that range took place in a single day and the rest of the time the market was dead.

I will give you an example of a market with a lot of volatility for two days but that was nevertheless a waste of time to trade the rest of the time. On 12/16/09 there was some breaking news on DCGN, deCode Genetics, and the market exploded and put in a range from 6 cents to over 30 cents, quadrupling its value in a single day. That is volatility! One day this market was at the top of the list for market gainers and on the next day it was on top of the list for market decliners, up and then down in two days. As I write this on 1/10/10 DCGN is back to where it started before the news and is as flat as a pancake. But if you run a volatility scan on all stocks for December 2009 DCGN will probably top the list. And yet it was but a one day wonder and outside that one day it would be pointless to keep it in a trading portfolio.

This kind of market movement is not unusual and it creates problems for identifying good markets to trade. Software that uses range over a period of time does not filter out this kind of market.

After some experimentation I hit on a solution to this problem which I will share here. What I did was to develop a program that could scan a stream of data and identify the characteristics that typically work well with our unconventional trading methods.

The markets that worked best with our trading methodology were markets that had repeated expanding, volatile break outs with follow through for a day or two. After an expansion of range the market might contract for a few days but this contraction might then be followed by another expansion and then some more follow through.

DUMMY DAY TRADING SYSTEM

To identify such markets I programmed a dummy day trading system. We do not day trade and I am NOT recommending day trading or this system for actual trading. But to identify good break out markets for our methodology I set up the following simple rules for the dummy day trading system:

1) The "system" uses our proprietary programming method for determining the number of contracts traded and limits the size of our positions to approximately $1,000 per position taken. In the world of stock trading this might be considered a tiny position. We do this to allow us to trade a large number of markets with a small amount of money. We currently trade 96 markets and by doing so we protect our trading equity through diversification. Hence we will buy 1000 shares of a stock selling at 98 cents per share but only 100 shares of a stock selling at $10.02 per share.

2) After the close on a given day the DUMMY SYSTEM determines the range for that day. It then calculates 25% of that range and adds that value to the market close to determine a buy point for the next day. Hence virtually any kind of significant upside move the following day will result in the dummy system buying the market. Typically the dummy system will get a buy signal about every other day and show around ten trades for every 20 trading days or so.

3) A day of entry stop is immediately entered when a position is taken. Using 15 minute bar data this stop will exit a market if it retraces its move more than 75% from the last intra-day high. This stop is rarely hit.

4) All positions are closed out on the close of the trading day.

This dummy system is really just a screening device. This is partial results from a GOOD MARKET, BIOF, which was tested on intra-day data for eight weeks from 11/09/2009 through 1/08/10:

BIOF BioFuel Energy Corp. (NASDAQ) 15 min bars 11/09/09 - 1/08/10

Total Net Profit = $552
Number Trades = 17
Wins = 10 (59%)
Average profit per trade (wins and losses) = $32.49

This is partial results from a BAD MARKET, ARBA, which was also tested on Intra-day data for eight weeks from 11/09/2009 through 1/08/10:

ARBA Ariba, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ) 15 min bars 11/09/09 - 1/08/10

Total Net Profit = $44

Number Trades = 19

Wins = 12 (63%)

Average profit per trade (wins and losses) = $2.32

When you look at the three month charts of these markets you may be inclined to believe that both markets are volatile and would be good markets to trade. Conventional methods of determining volatility will probably show that both markets are indeed volatile. But when we apply the dummy system to the 15 minute charts the difference between these markets becomes apparent.

The bottom line is that BIOF is a great market for our methods, but we are wasting our time with ARBA. The problem is that ARBA is simply not volatile enough to overcome our transaction costs when trading our relatively small positions. For this reason we must reject this market.

As a rule of thumb when I scan markets with the dummy system I like to see the average trade (win loss) over $10. If the average trade is less than $10 I reject the market for use in our portfolio.

I have found that this method of market selection for identifying "hot markets" for short term trading to be superior to other methods, commercial or otherwise. I have found that markets that show an average trade greater than $10 using the dummy system will usually show excellent real time profits trading our short term trading methods.

Social Influencers Help You Sell More Stuff

Social Influence Marketing, as described in Social Media Marketing for Dummies,is a technique that employs Social Media (content created by everyday people using highly accessible and scalable technologies such as blogs, message boards, podcasts, microblogs, bookmarks, social networks, communities, wiki's and vlogs) and Social Influencers, (everyday people who have an outsized influence on their peers by virtue of how much content they share on line) to achieve an organization's marketing and business needs.

Social Media, which was likely one of the most hyped buzzwords in 2008, refers to content created and consumed by regular people for each other.

Social Media and its making now allows everyone in the world to be a content publisher and arbitrator.

Social Influencers are the everyday people who influence the consumer as he/she makes a purchasing decision. Simply, the people who influence a brand affinity and purchasing decisions are Social Influencers. Engagement is a Lost Art, are you targeting Social Influencers as part of your overall marketing objectives?

Social influence is the change in behavior that one person causes in another, intentionally or unintentionally, as a result of the way the changed person perceives themselves in relationship to the influencer, other people and society in general.

Christine Thompson describes Social Influencers in her post titled Social Influence Marketing;

Key influencers – people who have almost celebrity status in the social media world – in some cases can exercise considerable influence on purchase decisions throughout the consumer's buying process. Rarely does the consumer actually know these key influencers in real life.

Social influencers are people whom the consumer follows on Twitter or FaceBook, or whose blogs and product reviews appeal to the consumer. Their influence is greatest during the earlier phase of the buying cycle: awareness and consideration, but wanes during the action phase. Although the social influencers are likely to be within the consumer's social graph, they may not actually know each other.

The greatest impact occurs through known peer influencers: colleagues, friends and family. How much impact these "known peers" exercise varies by product category and how much the consumer respects the person's insight and expertise in that category. For example, a husband can influence the brand and model decisions when it comes to auto purchases or leases; however, he has no impact on purchase decisions for yoga classes, mats and accessories, or other yoga-related items. This is because I don't believe he has an informed opinion in this arena.

  1. Are you connecting with Social Influencers to drive your marketing needs and business needs?

  2. Does your Digital Footprint have the required reach and inclusion of Social Influencers relevant to your brand?

Music For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
music for dummies
Need a little help with music theory (Piano)?

I'm reading a book, music theory for dummies and I'm currently in the chapter about harmonic progressions and it has the 7th chords of the C minor scale written out like this:

I - Cm7
ii - Dm7(b5)
III - EbM7
iv - Fm7
V - Gdim7
VI - AM7
vii - Bdim7

It also has the chords written out in notation, but the V and vii degrees do not seem to fit as a diminished chord into the key signature, I don't see how Gdim7 and Bdim7 fit into the key signature as they have keys that aren't flatted/sharped in the key signature (Cmin/EbMajor)

Someone please explain!

Thanks

that is because the book is wrong. If you are working with C natural minor, which follows the key signature, V will be a Gmin7 chord and vii will be a BbMaj7 chord. Most of the time though you will see the 7th degree of the c minor scale raised in both of these chords because it sounds better. So the V will be a G7 chord and the vii will be a Bdim7. The way the book explained this was horrible!

Basketball Rules For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

Basketball for dummies... aka me. Simple explanation of rules when playing with friends?

Simple explanation of basketball rules?
Hypothetical situation:

One of my guy friends comes over and asks me if I want to play basketball. I accept the offer. Now what?

It's silly, but when playing with friends I've never totally gotten how everything works. I can dribble, make a shot, yadayada, but I'm lost when it comes to anything more.
What's it mean to "check" the ball? What are some basic rules when playing on a half court? Anything in particular I should know so as to not completely embarrass myself?

I'm a girl on a mission... I'll figure it out eventually! Your help - any help - is greatly appreciated.

Good question.

If your playing a game it will be half-court. A check is when the person passes you the ball and once you pass it back the play begins. But if someone on your team is not ready yet, hold the ball till their ready, hence the word "check".

Whenever someone shoots the ball and hits the rim you must clear the ball, or take it behind the 3 point line either by passing or dribbling it yourself. If the ball does not hit the rim, you do not have to clear the ball and you can immediately shoot the ball whereever you are on the court. Points genrally go by 1 with games usually going to 12,16, or 21. Some people play where you get 2 points for a three, but that all depends on who you play with. You also have to call your own fouls by either yelling "foul" or "ball". You have to do it before the basketball goes in or out of the hoop otherwise it will be too late and your foul won't count. If you make it and call foul the basket will not count so be positive about your calls. Also don't call a whole bunch of fouls cause that will just make people mad. Unless they do it too. Don't call too many double dribbles or carries (if u know what a carry is) cause that will get on people's nerves too, and basketball is all about fun. It is okay to call some though because you do want to win as well.

Most people play where whenever you make a basket you get the ball back, but that is not everyone. Chances are though the people you play with will play like that too.

Those are most of the basics that I can think of. I play basketball almost everyday so I might be forgetting something that's simple to me, but you might have never seen before.

Would I score high enough to enlist if....{Please Help}?

Im kind of bad at math...I can study and get maybe 10 out of 25 questions right (if that) but I was wondering if I do good in the paragraph comprehension, word knowledge electronics and the section with the shapes, do you think I could score a well enough score on the test to be able to enlist?

Im really worried about the math and science section. I kind of hit the snooze button on math in high school and im really paying the price now. Science use to be my favorite subject but I doubt if I can remember most on the subject if its not basic biology/earth/anatomy.....

I bought the book asvab for dummies...hopefully it helps!
also if you have any key things that I really need to know to score well on the test please let me know what they are.

I took the practice asvab and scored a 30...I need a 36 for the air force. (of course I want higher but...i at least want to qualify)

Math is absolutely necessary..it is one of the main components of your line scores and will determine what if any jobs you would be eligible for.

just scoring the minimum does NOT necessarily mean you will actually qualify for any jobs.

Learn to Play the Guitar on DVD

For many guitar students DVDs are the ideal way to learn to play guitar. DVDs make more noise and hold the attention better than books, plus they are easier to store. But in general, most people who want to learn to play the guitar would prefer a video of their teacher showing them how to play. Plus the kind of graphics available on DVDs are much more guitar newbie-friendly when it comes to learning chords or tabs. There are many DVDs out there that say they will teach you guitar but I prefer three that have actually been around for a few years, and I thought I would share them with you.

"Learning Guitar For Dummies" has been on the market since 2001. Most people approaching learning guitar for the first time would be attracted to any teaching method that is "for dummies". The title promises easy step-by-step instruction. This DVD does not disappoint. For a start you are not required to learn to read music to become a well qualified guitar player using this method. You are taken through the basic steps of setting up the physical skills like fingering chords that are needed to learn to play the guitar and then you are given the opportunity to use your own musical creativity as you learn to play some simple pieces. Anyone who already has some experience on playing the guitar might find this DVD a little slow in pace but for the raw amateur, it is ideal.

"Fender Presents: Getting Started on Acoustic Guitar - A Guide for Beginners" is more of a major work for any student who feels that he wants to take his guitar playing to the limit. The DVD is complete with backing tracks using real instruments instead of MIDI so you can get the feeling of playing along with a band, and 3D graphics are made good use of in the section that takes you through the basics of which string is which and learning to play basic chords.

Once you have moved out of the beginner stage the DVD takes you through soloing techniques, using a capo and some fingerstyle playing. The teacher, Keith Wyatt knows what he needs to do to explain how to play guitar in a clear, easily understood manner. This DVD id for the ambitious acoustic guitar student who does not want to have to buy another DVD after learning the basics.

"Fender Presents: Getting Started on Electric Guitar - A Guide for Beginners" is of the same quality as its acoustic guitar counterpart. The attention to detail and the sense that I, as a guitar learner, am important stand out as the DVD helps you learn to play guitar. The section dealing with teaching you to become an electric guitarist teaches muting, arpeggios, string bending, solo playing, the differences between country, rock and blues, plus the care of your guitar and amp.

The Fender DVDs offer the ultimate solution if you want to learn to play guitar, but "Learning Guitar For Dummies" has a lot to offer the newbie who wants to learn to play guitar on DVD but wants to do it in baby steps.

A Disease of the Soul

The Book of Job is an instruction manual on how to avoid unnecessary suffering as a result of courting the spirit of fear. Fear is the common denominator for many of man's mental and physical diseases, ranging from phobias to asthma, high blood pressure, strokes and nervous conditions. Fear-filled words have power to curse, destroy, tear down, discourage, depress, malign, and even call into being death and disease.

A dangerous misconception of fear is that it is a natural necessary emotion. Many people allow fear to control their lives and accept fear as a normal way of life. If fear were natural, then it would be listed as one of God's gifts to man; however, God's word warns of the destructiveness of the spirit of fear and announces that, God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a strong mind. (2Timothy 1:6-7)

A sound mind is a mind that is "free from fear." A mind tormented with fearful thoughts is anything but sound. Fear enters our mind as a seed (thought), it sprouts, takes root and begins to grow. When we act on this thought or speak it out, acknowledging it, the fear now becomes a stronghold. The Bible warns us to cast down every thought that exalts itself above the knowledge and truth of God's Word. 2Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Fear itself has no power; the power comes from our spoken words that are motivated by the spirit of fear. Satan can use these words against us to bring to pass the negative words that we speak, just as God uses our faith-filled words to manifest His power through us.

The number one goal for Satan is to destroy our faith in God. His second goal is to destroy our faith in as many of God's promises as he can. God says, "I will provide all of your needs according to my riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Satan will get you to confess lack and give you the spirit of poverty and depression. He wants to rob you of your joy and peace and replace it with fear, worry, stress, concern, care, anxiety, lack, depression and hopelessness. Jesus took your sickness, disease and infirmities on the cross. Like salvation, healing is a gift that cannot be earned, only freely received by faith. Satan wants you to believe that God allows him to put sickness on you to teach you some kind of a lesson so you won't ask him for healing, because if you do, you will be praying against God's will for you.

Fear is the foundation of unbelief and Satan's most powerful weapon of choice. Satan counterfeits all of God's blessings, promises and holy attributes. What is the greatest thing you could do for God? Love Him? Serve Him? Seek Him? Honor Him? Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Proverbs 19:23 The fear of the LORD tends to life: and he that has it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility. The fear of God is a righteous, holy fear, a wise fear. A fear of God brings wisdom! Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Do you now see why Satan's weapon of choice is fear? Because our source of the greatest power is from fearing God. However Satan's fear is perverted fear: fear that terrorizes, paralyzes, horrifies, destroys our hope, steals our joy, and brings pain, suffering, sickness, disease, calamity, devastation and death. Holy, righteous, Godly fear, results in wisdom and understanding; for The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:and the knowledge is understanding.

There are hundreds of phobias or spirits of fear that literally control peoples lives, keeping them in bondage. Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee. 2Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. So, if God says, He has not given you the spirit of fear, then where did it come from?

Fear is the exact opposite of faith; fear is to faith what darkness is to light. God said "let there be light" and His Word created light, His Word is light, Jesus is light! Jesus said in John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. Until God spoke His Word, Let there be light...the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:2-4

God's Word separates the light from the darkness; God's Word is light, Satan's word is darkness (void of light). 2Samuel 22:29 For you are my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. We all have experienced Achluophobia (fear of darkness) at some time in our life. Why is this one so common or universal? Darkness is the absence of light! How profound. Actually it is not so much the darkness that we are afraid of as it is not being able to see. The darkness renders us blind, unable to see what the darkness is concealing. Then the spirit of fear enters our mind, controlling our thoughts until we are consumed by the reality of darkness. Our thoughts begin controlling our imaginations which, in turn, fuel the "fear factor."

This vicious cycle continues unchecked until we are paralyzed by fear and surrender to panic and hopelessness. Is it any wonder that Satan's favorite weapon of choice is fear? 1Peter 5:8 warns us to be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour...Satan has come to kill, steal and destroy. The root of Job's misery was fear: Job 3:25 For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I feared has happened to me. With the use of fear Satan will get you to confess poverty or lack, sickness, disease or infirmities, sadness, depression, hopelessness, suicide, or defeat; the results are anxiety, stress, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, mental illness, or death! Jesus said, I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly and the thief [Satan] has come to kill, steal and destroy.

To give you some perspective of Satan's stranglehold on man through fear, I have listed the phobias beginning with the letter "A". If you respond as I did, you will find most of these ridiculous and may even think they are made up. Sadly, each of them are someone's "real" fears and Satan has them in bondage and humiliation from others who judge the validity and authenticity of their fear.

  • Aviophobia or Aviatophobia- Fear of flying.

My favorite was: Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia- Fear of long words.

If you resist fear, Satan has no access into your life. When you refuse fear, you paralyze Satan; and he can't harm you. The fear of the LORD tends to life: and he that has it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. 2Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 1John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.

You can't believe God's Word and be fearful at the same time. For you to say "I am afraid" is for you to enter into unbelief and deny God's Word. For a believer not to believe God's Word and to fear is opening the door for Satan's attack. Anything that doesn't line up with the Word of God is an invitation to the enemy. For a believer not to believe God's Word and to fear is wicked and has potentially serious consequences. Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please God: for he that comes to God must believe that he is who He says He is, and that he rewards those that diligently seek him.

Job submitted to fear and lost his family, property, possessions and health!

You are not subject to the world's belief system which is orchestrated by Satan. The world wants you to believe that the flu is out there waiting for you and you should get your flu shot. The world says that you may already have this disease, or statistics show you will more than likely get it so you should "ask your doctor if this drug is right for you." One out of four commercials is promoting drugs or health-related products. Psalms 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

There is no need to fear death, because you hold the power of life and death in your tongue. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. You are the establishing witness; you can either produce life or death with the words of your mouth. Your words will determine your destiny for you have a free will to choose life or death: Things don't work for Christians who break the laws or don't understand them. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

What you are afraid of is directly related to your lack of faith in God's Word or what you don't believe to be true. Discover the promises in the Word of God and put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ; then fear will flee, along with doubt and unbelief, and the promises will become a reality in your life. Fear is designed to create doubt and doubt destroys faith and trust. A barometer of your faith is the words of your mouth. They will reveal what is in your heart, for: A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

Examine your life and determine if the negative circumstances are in direct proportion to your words and the confessions of your mouth. Are you experiencing financial problems or some other lack in your life or relationships? Are you confirming these situations and predicaments verbally and announcing from your mouth to others how bad things seem to be? You're not alone! Job and millions of others have done the same thing and got the same results. The thing that you are afraid will happen, will happen, and the thing you are afraid will come upon you, will come upon you. That's how fear and fear-filled words work! So repent for your unbelief and move on.

piano for dummies
piano question..help me?

i can't understand the bass cleff very well.......so can i just go on with the lessons if i don't get it???. I study from Piano for dummies.

Just like for the treble clef the lines are EGBDF (which I remember by Every Good Boy Does Fine) and the spaces are FACE (which spells face), there are ways to remember the bass clef lines. I remember the lines are GBDFA (which I remember by Good Boys Don't Fool Around) and the spaces are ACEG (whicih I remember by All Cars Eat Gas). Just little sayings like that have help me be able to remember much better. The website www.musictheory.net is great for things like that, it even helps with key signatures and what not. Good luck♥

laptops for dummies
anyone good at solving computer problems for dummies?

I've changed my password on my laptop and now I can't log in, the my "password hint" wont' work. Does anyone know how I can log in to my account? I don't have a password recovery program. (I guess I shouldn't try doing things that require baisic memory when I'm only functioning on 1 hour of sleep. Oh yeah I'm on a friend's computer )

well i would try the admin account ..reboot and start up safe mode and see if the admin account has a passowrd...instructions below.....if that does no work try the 2nd option below...but you will have to be able to burn a cd...

option 1
If Windows XP is the only operating system installed on your computer, booting into Safe Mode with these instructions.

If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
When you are finished with all troubleshooting, close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.
To use the System Configuration Utility method

Close all open programs.
Click Start, Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and click OK
The System Configuration Utility appears, On the BOOT.INI tab, Check the "/SAFEBOOT" option, and then click OK and Restart your computer when prompted.
The computer restarts in Safe mode.
Perform the troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
When you are finished with troubleshooting in Safe mode, open MSCONFIG again, on the BOOT.INI tab, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK to restart your computer

option 2

go to this link to learn how to make and use a boot disk to reset the pass

please note that this is for your pc only...and if it not yours this disk could get you into trouble to use ...
