Is there a good book, video, website to help me get into the mechanics of cars?
I have a good basic understanding of cars. Basic understanding of how engines work, not really transmissions, I want to learn the rest. I want to be able to mentally build and take apart a car. I don't have access to a car I can work on for a few more months. I don't want like cars for dummies. I need something that assumes I have some basic understanding and goes into detail.
You're already assuming you know more than you do, a bad mistake. If you had become acquainted with the basics you would already be aware of the hundreds of thousands of options available. Start with the Dummies book. It is a good foundation. From there you can move on to the internet. Have you been to the book store or library? Also good places to find information.
