Phlebotomy For Dummies

Phlebotomy course questions certification (currently an MA)?

I finished my certification to be a medical assistant recently.

I completed my internship and am looking into a phlebotomy course so I can get that extra certification.

I noticed most of these courses are on dummy mannequin arms and are 6-9 weeks long, and cost $$.

In my school & internship Ive taken blood via butterfly needle and standard needle anticubital venipuncture from over 50 people.

In my school if you were able to stick over 50 people from the anticubital vein (inside of the arm) you would be certified to take the statewide test for phlebotomist certification. (I didnt get up to 50 there was no time). But from my training and intern Ive poked well over 50 pt.
Why should I take this course?

Theres no way I can be certified without a course?

You can always request free career/certification information from the nationally recognized certification bodies, such as AMT, or NHA.

You can even do this online. All you have to tell them is that you are a medical assistant interested in their phlebotomy certification requirements, and request their printed brochures, or pamphlets.
