Legal Terms For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

What do you mean by Performa Invoice?

I had completed a project for a client. Due to some legal issues I wont be able to provide him with the overall work invoice at the time. It will have to be delayed for a month or more. Anyway the client will have to be informed about the work cost in a professional manner. I had planned to send the invoice to the client marked dummy, but a friend had suggested using the term performa invoice instead. But what is performa invoice actually and will it be the right term to be used in such a situation?

I have used Tentative Invoice, before for the same situation.

I'm not sure what term you should use maybe Tentative Invoice, or Provisional Invoice, but be sure to add a line under the title stating," That this is not the final invoice", or "this is a tentative invoice the Official Invoice will be sent on or by x/xx/xxxx date".
That way it is clear, and they can not contest you if things get messy.
