What is the best book, or series of books for a beginner to learn computer repair and how to build a computer?

I am looking for a book that teaches repair, networking and any other computer things for a real beginner. I do not like the "dummies" books. I want something with a good glosarry because I don't know much of the terminology. For instance I don't know what a video card does, I assume it has something to do with the video. Whatever help you can offer I greatley appreciate.
