Explain enantiomers for the dummy :D?

Please explain to me what an enantiomer is. I already know that enantiomers are isomers that mirror image each other. But, I don't understand what that MEANS. Can someone please explain...? this is for AP biology....
ok so now i get what an enantiomer is but i don't understand this question: Why does the body manipulate and synthesize only one type of enantiomer? i know it has something to do with enzymes...

It means they are non-superimposable. Its like your right and left hands...they are opposites of eachother and no matter what way you put them together, you can't have your thumb on the same side when your palms are facing in the same direction.

It might make more sense if you looked at some pictures. This page has a few: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enantiomer
