Medical Billing For Dummies

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

My boyfriend told me that they are actually going to do this?

My boyfriend is going to school to become a medical biller and coder, well suppposely they are like in a nursing class. They learn about different things in the medical field that really has nothing to do with medical coding and billing. He told me that they are going to be learning about CPR in his class, and that for practice they have to practice on a dummy and then for the final they have to do it on a real person. There are seven students and my bf is the only guy! I really dont feel comfortable with him doing this. Can the school do this???
please only answer if you know anything about this topic.
i dont want my bf doing this with other women, some of them flirt with him!
I told him that i would voluteer to do this with him but he dont want me to
okay u totally dont understand i am not trying to stop him from doing what he wants i just dont want all these girls on him like that.
i do stay in the U.S

You do not "practice" cpr on a live/well person. cpr will often result in broken ribs and other ill effects. Imagine what having someone press your chest in about 1 inch would do to you. You only do it on someone who's having a heart attack (because a broken rib pales in comparison to a dead person).

Either your boyfriend is pulling your leg, doesn't understand what's going to be done in the class, or the instructor is way out of line.

And yes, a school can require all their students to be certified in cpr. Personally, I think it'd be great if every school would get all their students certified in cpr.

If you're uncomfortable about what they'll be doing in this class, simply ask the instructor if there'd be a problem with you coming along and watching to get at least some cpr exposure. Getting certified usually costs money, but hopefully the instructor wont have a problem with you watching to learn at least some basic first aid (which would be good if everyone knew).
